GeoSurvey Adds 3D Laser Scanning Division

February 18, 2015 by greenmellen Leave a Comment

GeoSurvey, Ltd., is Pleased to Announce The Opening of Our 3D Laser Scanning Division

Brad Cash, LS, operating Faro X330 Laser Scanner

3D Laser Scanning, also known as High Definition Surveying, is quickly becoming the most cost efficient and accurate method of developing as-built conditions of existing structures and surfaces.  Days, or even weeks of valuable time and effort can be saved by utilizing 3d point clouds vs. conventional measurements to develop as-built conditions of existing structures and features.  3D point clouds are now fully supported in all later versions of design software packages, including all Autodesk products and Bentley products.

Find out more about our 3D Laser Scanning services on our website or feel free to call us to discuss how we can assist you with your next project!

Tobesofkee Creek – Forsyth Reservoir

September 30, 2013 by greenmellen Leave a Comment

Rob Tharpe on Island in Monroe ReservoirJohn Moeller and Rob Tharpe had a busy week last week surveying a 117 acre reservoir down in Monroe County, GA.  Check out this setup on an island in the middle of the upper reaches of the reservoir.   According to Rob, this particular island is inhabited by three rather large wasp nests and few other creatures.  Needless to say, he was stepping carefully out there!

Our client, Scnhabel Engineering, will utilize the information on our survey to calculate the capacity of the reservoir.

Water Water Everywhere!

July 23, 2013 by greenmellen Leave a Comment

Ron Watson
in the Chattahoochee…

GeoSurvey is working with one of our clients, AEC Engineering, Inc., and The Chattahoochee Nature Center to reconfigure and rehabilitate the wooden nature walks at the center.  We are providing a survey base-map for the engineering design of the improvements.  We’ve been trying to get this field work finished for over a month!

As all of our local friends know, this has been one of the wettest summers ever here in GA.  The water just won’t go down low enough for us to work, so sometimes we just have to “jump right in” and make it happen.

Our Trimble S6
getting its “legs” wet…

Thanks to Ronald Watson and Matt Erwin for taking one for the team and getting this survey completed so the Nature Center can get their boardwalks repaired and reconfigured to better serve the public…
