Taft Womack IV, LSIT

Taft’s surveying career started in Florida back in 2012, where he gained valuable field experience as a field crew assistant (Rodman), advancing quickly from this position to instrument operator in short order. After a move to Georgia in late 2013 to transition to a different survey firm, he continued working diligently, advancing to running his own crew (Crew Chief) in 2015 for seven years. Over those years, Taft conducted fieldwork on all types of surveys, including large boundary retracements, topographic, As-built, DOT/Transportation, utilities, construction layout, ALTA, and bathymetric.

In the midst of all that hard work, Taft still found time to focus on his education, first attending Georgia State University, where he majored in mathematics, and later attending Kennesaw State University (KSU). While at KSU, he completed the required surveying coursework to attain his GA Licensed Surveyor-in-Training (LSIT) status.
He has also passed the Principles & Practice of Surveying (PS) Exam and is currently preparing to take the GA State Specific Surveying Exam in the very near future.

Taft joined the GeoSurvey team in 2026. The profession runs deep in his family, with his father and brothers also working as surveyors, inspiring his lifelong passion in the field.
