GeoSpatial Services Manager

  • GA

Jon Moeller began working for GeoSurvey in 2013 as a as a Survey Field Technician.  Jon quickly progressed through the ranks with GeoSurvey, working in assignments as Survey Technician and Survey Project Manager.   He now works for GeoSurvey as GeoSpatial Services Manager.   This newly created role allows John to gather data by using drones, 3-D laser scanners, and other sensors in the field in support of our land surveying projects and then process the results in the office.  Before joining the team at GeoSurvey, he worked in the field as a rod-man and gained experience with hand drafting and CAD software. He earned an Associate Degree in engineering and a B.A. in math and science before completing his surveying courses at Middle Georgia College and Southern Polytechnic State University.

Jon has worked on many projects for GeoSurvey.   One of his most memorable projects was working as a Survey Field Technician for a survey project at  Zoo Atlanta.   This project required intensive coordination with the zoo staff to gain access to the animal enclosures while collecting the survey data.  Jon successfully managed a team of surveying field personnel collecting both conventional and laser scan data for this project.   Jon acquired his land surveyor license in Georgia while working for GeoSurvey in 2014.  He is an active member of the Surveying and Mapping Society of Georgia as well as the National Society of Professional Surveyors.
