The GeoSurvey team held our annual Fall Retreat in the North Georgia Mountains Friday, September 27, 2019. Our theme for our retreat was “Old vs. New”.
We held classes at our mountain lodge learning how surveyors 50 years ago were required to read a vernier for every angle measured and pull a steel tape for every distance measured. We contrasted this effort with the ease of use of our newest piece of equipment, our Trimble SX10 laser scanning total station. We spent the entire day learning, laughing, and telling great land surveying stories – some true and some maybe not!
